🌿 About Honghu Lotus Root
Honghu Lotus Root, also called Powdery Lotus Root, is grown in the clean freshwater lakes of Honghu, Hubei Province, one of China’s most famous lotus-producing regions.
Unlike crisp lotus root used for stir-frying, Honghu lotus root has a high starch content, giving it a soft, creamy, and slightly sweet texture after long simmering. It is especially prized for making lotus root and pork rib soup.
To maintain freshness during transport, the roots are packed with natural mud, just as they are harvested from the lake.
